THE STAIRWAY
The construction of the stairway in the course of the renovations:
The stairway after the completion of the renovation:
The symbol of the eagle is a central feature of the staircase. Fixed into the side of the staircase are multiple eagles in ascending sequence, whilst a large wooden carving of an eagle stands on the very first step of the staircase. The eagle, together with the name of the home (The New Arundel), represent the divinity of Jesus Christ.
There are three large icons hanging on the wall along the staircase: the icon of St Michael the Archangel to whose intercession and battle we commend this home, the icon of the Holy Family whose lives inspire us to holiness, and the icon of the Holy Trinity whose lives we seek to reflect as a household.
